Sufa defends top seat in Belau softball

SUFA continued to the lead the Belau Amateur Softball League by keeping the Big Legals winless during last Sunday’s game at the Dandan Softball Field.

John Pialur had three run-scoring base hits including a couple of two RBI singles to lead Sufa’s 13-3 rout of the Big Legals in six innings.

The Big Legals opened a promising inning with Ben C. firing an RBI single to help put up a three to nothing lead.

But Sufa wiped that out right away.

After Joe Fejeran getting struck out by Big Legals’ pitcher, June, Frank Babauta singled before Pialur drove him in with double. Sufa went on with their hit parade with Martin N. adding an RBI single to put take the upper hand after one complete inning.

The Sufa fielders did a great job in foiling base hit attempts while pitcher, Ton Camacho had three strike outs to hold the Big Legals scoreless all the way to the ball game.

In the meantime, the run-scoring hits continued.

Pialur stretched the lead with his two RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning, then, pulled Sufa farther in the sixth with another two RBI single while Jesse G. added a run-scoring single.

Peleliu 8, Ngaraard 6

Brel had two home runs and Dominic drove in two runs with his own homer, as Peleliu handed Ngaraard its fourth loss.

Dominic opened a strong start with his two-run HR in the top first inning.

Ngaraard could only trim down the lead in the third inning with Max hitting an RBI single.

But Peleliu did not want to lose the chance so after Glen’s single, Brel drove him in with an HR to keep the lead stronger. Brel had another home run and Peleliu secured their win.

Brotherhood 9, IP&E 6

Bill A. homered while Jedrian C. and John T. went 3-for-4 helping Brotherhood beat IP&E for their fourth win.

Ben H. and Joe L. drove in runs with sacrifice fly to put up a three-run lead in the top of the first inning.

IP&E pitcher Eli and the fielders tightened their defense to keep Brotherhood scoreless in four straight innings. Then, they cut the lead with Larry scoring a run on a throwing error in the bottom of the fifth.

Brotherhood stretched the lead in the top of the sixth with Bill A’s run-scoring home run.

But IP&E rallied in the bottom of the sixth with Jack firing a two-run home run and Jess, a one-run home run to narrow the gap.

Brotherhood’s John T. helped regain the lead with his one RBi single and the rest of the batters made it to the home plate on IP &E defenders’ errors.

City Boys 10, Mommy Charo 7

IS, Steven, Lucian and Markus hit RBIs apiece to help the City Boys beat Mommy Charo.

With Highness and Taylor scoring runs on catching errors, the City Boys put up the lead in the first inning.

Then, with IS’ one RBI double and Franky’s RBI single, the City Boys strengthened their stance in the second inning.

Mommy Charo cut the lead in the third with Dave’s one RBI double and runs on an error, scored by Benjie and Emory.

The City Boys pulled away in the fourth with Steven and Lucian hitting RBI single apiece, and Markus an RBI triple.

Ebech added an RBI single in the fifth and the City Boys secured the win.
