Mommy Charo clinches playoff spot in Belau Masters softball

MOMMY Charo put up a strong lead against Brotherhood last Sunday to secure a playoff spot in the 2105 Belau Softball Association Men’s Masters League at the Dandan Softball Field.

The S.A. Masters and IP&E also showed no mercy beating their respective opponents to protect their slots in the playoff that will start in two weeks.

Mommy Charo took a 4-0 lead in the first quarter with first base man Benji foiling three consecutive base hit attempts by Brotherhood.With Dave hitting three RBIs, and Kuich Damian capping the victory with a two-run single, Mommy Charo never gave in to secure a13-7 win.

Tito, Leo Bobai and Benji scored the first three runs on second baseman’s errors before Benji hit an RBI single for a strong first inning.

Brotherhood rallied in the second inning with Jeff sending three base runners home with a triple before he scored his own run on Joe’s single.

Mommy Charo tightened their defense leaving Brotherhood runless in three straight innings.

In the fourth inning, Bobai hit an RBI single, and in the fifth, Kaller added an RBI double before Dave blasted a two-run single to stretch Mommy Charo’s lead.

Jeff tripled before Joe sent him to the home plate for the Brotherhood in an attempt to catch up but Mommy Charo had enough hits and runs to protect their victory.

SA Masters 14, Peleliu 1

Jude Dickerson hit a two RBI single and Jeff S. added two RBIs on a foiled HR attempt and the SA Masters showed Peleliu no mercy.

After Reno Celis single and the first run of the game, the SA Masters scoring spree kept going on to the nine-run third inning.

With John Cepeda on the mound, the SA Masters held Peleliu runless in four consecutive innings.

Dickerson blasted a two-RBI single in the third Jeff S. sent runners home as well, Dennis Cruz and Jeff C. also hit run-scoring base hits to secure a 10-run rule victory.

IP&E 16, Ngarrard 5

IP&E also held on to their playoff chance by routing Ngarrard, 16-5.

Ron B. and Ivan hit an RBI single apiece to put up the lead in the first inning.

IP&E unleashed their rage in the second inning with Pepi starting off with a sacrifice fly, then, Mark blasted a triple, Jack and Ivan one-run single apiece and Ed two run single for their 10-run rule victory.
