Brotherhood defends lead in Belau Masters softball

WITH Jeff Diaz and Jerry Ayuyu driving in two runs, Brotherhood kept the lead in Belau Amateur Softball League’s Men’s Masters during last Sunday’s game against Sufa at the Dandan Softball Field.

Sufa’s pitcher, Tom Camacho allowed only one hit to hold Brotherhood runless in the opening inning, then, in their offense, Frank Babauta doubled and scored runs in defenders’ error to take the lead in the bottom of the first.

But Ayuyu’s solo home run helped Brotherhood held their ground in the top of the second inning.

Brotherhood tightened its defense keeping Sufa runless in the rest of the game.

Diaz’ triple sent Julian Camacho and John Diaz home in the top of the fourth.

Ayuyu drove in Ben Hocog on a sacrifice fly in the fifth, and Ayuyu hit two RBI single in the sixth to finish off Sufa.

SA Masters 10, IP &E 9

Jude’s grand slam put up a two-run lead, then, pitcher, John and first baseman Dennis foiled a base hit attempt to beat IP &E.

With Peter and Ed’s RBI single, IP&E took the lead in the bottom of the third inning.

But Oscar Sablan doubled and tied the ball game with a run then, John C drove in a run to take the lead in the top of the fourth.

Peter opened IP&E’s fifth inning with a solo home run Ed hit an RBI single and Ron Benavente drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to regain their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Jeff loaded the bases with walk and the SA Masters came back Jude hitting a grand slam to take a two-run lead in the top of the sixth inning.
